I fell in love with this extremely cool, handmade, Reclaimed Teak Bench. It brought the top dollar for a single item, at Hanalei School’s Starry Night fundraising auction, Saturday evening.

This six foot long patchwork bench, is made out of reclaimed teak wood. The simple shape is so very Zen.

Each one of the fifth grade class students carved their own inspirational words into the bench. The children’s words in wood made this bench even more special than it already was.
In case you were wondering…
This beautiful bench alone, raised $2,500 for the children of Hanalei School.
The lucky winning bidder (who didn’t even have a child in this class) told me they would have paid more.
This DIY project is on my Pinterest DIY Board, and on my hubby’s “to make for us” list.
