Ahh…Chai Tea Latte with a sprinkling of Tahitian vanilla powder on top. Taking a little time out for one’s self… always a worthy call. Here’s my recipe for making pure comfort in a mug:
Chai Tea Latte
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup organic 1% milk (can substitute your individual type of milk or soy milk)
- 1 Tazo Organic Chai Tea Bag
- 1 cup boiling water
- Tahitian Vanilla Powder (can substitute any vanilla powder, chocolate powder, or ground cinnamon)
- Optional: sweeten with sugar or sugar substitute
Method:
- Pour milk into your favorite microwavable mug. Heat in microwave, on high for 45 seconds.
- Use Aerolatte* to froth hot milk, until light and fluffy.
- Place chai tea bag into mug, add water and steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Squeeze tea bag and discard.
- Sprinkle top of frothed milk with vanilla powder.
Enjoy.

The Aerolatte Deluxe Edition Milk Frother with Stand is one of my very favorite kitchen tools, and makes a welcome and unique gift for holidays, housewarmings, weddings, a thank you or just because. My Aerolatte was a housewarming gift, given to me by a fabulous Kauai friend, who adores coffee.
It’s not a good idea to save and re-use tea bags. They lose flavor and strength and more importantly, can harbor mold and bacteria, when left out.
Now, it’s your turn. What makes you feel all warm and snugly? Share your favorite fall comfort in a mug.

I absolutely love this recipe! It brings Starbucks straight to the comforts of my home, and I get to control the calories. I love making this chai tea latte for friends. I like to add vanilla powder and cinnamon. I am thinking of sprinkling nutmeg next time. And I definitely agree with the aerolatte as a great gift. Thanks for sharing this recipe Joy! The tips are great too. I never thought about mold in tea bags.
Starting to make out my holiday gift list…I wonder, who on that list has been good enough to get an Aerolatte for a gift?
